Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of Secil as a medium for teaching beginning reading and writing to lower-grade students, including its content, features, advantages, disadvantages, and steps for use. The Secil application helps children learn to read and write while getting to know letters, numbers, shapes, colors, animals, fruits, food, and family members with visual guidance, pronunciation sounds, and star rewards. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach (library research), which focuses on collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing various relevant written sources, such as scientific articles, research reports, books, and digital documents related to the Secil application and its implementation in early literacy learning. The research results indicate that the use of the Secil application can be utilized in early literacy learning. Children can associate letters or words with corresponding pictures and sounds. Additionally, interactive features such as puzzle assembly, size sorting, and color matching further strengthen the understanding of basic concepts. Thus, the Secil application can motivate students to learn basic reading and writing thru interactive exercises based on text, images, and audio. This application also makes it easier for teachers to present letter, syllable, and word materials step by step, making learning more effective and aligned with students' early literacy development.
