Relasi Kemampuan Literasi Jaringan dengan Manajemen Privasi Pelajar Sma Negeri 1 Sumedang
Abstract
Abstract: This research aims to determine the relationship between network literacy skills and privacy management of high school students. This research uses quantitative method with associative study. The population is students of SMA Negeri 1 Sumedang. The sample size is 150 students based on the binomial proportion and sampling error size. Research data are collected through questionnaire, observation, interview, and literature study. The research data uses nominal scale and analyzed using chi square analysis and contingency coefficient C analysis with confidence level of 95%. The result of this research indicates that there are significant relationships between understanding of internet network system and information access and filtering skills with privacy management. The students have a high understanding about internet network and able to apply it in determining control and ownership of private information. The students also have good information filtering skills and able to apply it in determining their private boundaries. Whereas information sharing skills and self-opennes in internet network do not have any significant relationship with privacy management. The students are able to present and distribute information through internet, but not careful enough in rechecking contents that may contain private information before uploading it into social media. Majority of the students tend to be open in interacting with other internet users, but the privacy measures that they are doing are not much different from the students who tend to be closed.References
