Author Guidelines
A. MANUSCRIPT GUIDELINES
1. Type of Manuscript
All manuscripts submitted to Kasbuna: Journal of Islamic Business Management must be original works that have not been published previously and are not under consideration elsewhere.
Manuscripts may take the form of:
- Original research articles (empirical or conceptual)
- Case studies
- Theoretical applications
- Critical or literature reviews
Each manuscript must contain sufficient methodological and analytical details to allow readers and reviewers to fully understand and evaluate the study.
To maintain the double-blind review process, authors should not include any identifying information (name, affiliation, etc.) in the main text or file properties.
2. Language
Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian using clear academic language. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts proofread before submission. Single authors should avoid using “we” when referring to themselves.
3. Article Length
The manuscript should be between 4,000–6,000 words, excluding tables, figures, and references. Editors may return manuscripts that significantly fall outside this range for adjustment.
4. Format
- Paper size: A4 (8.27” × 11.69”)
- Font: Calibri, 12 pt, 1.15 spacing
- File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- All pages, including tables and figures, must be numbered consecutively
Use words (one to ten) in sentences, and numerals for higher numbers or technical units (e.g., 5 km; 25 years; 10%).
Authors are encouraged to use the Kasbuna article template.
The editorial team reserves the right to adjust formatting for consistency.
5. Tables, Figures, and Equations
- Each table and figure must be clearly titled and numbered sequentially.
- Include the data source below each table or figure.
- Images or figures should be at least 300 dpi.
Example equation:
Y = α + βX + ε (1)
6. Instruments
For field surveys or experimental studies, include questionnaires, interview guides, or instruments used in the research as appendices.
B. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE
Title
Concise, specific, and informative — no more than 16 words. Avoid abbreviations unless widely known.
Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
Include full names, institutional affiliations (with city and country), and email of the corresponding author.
Abstract (150–250 words)
- Introduction – background and research objectives
- Research Methods – design, data, and analysis
- Results – key results
- Conclusion – implications and takeaways
Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords that represent the article’s main topics, written in alphabetical order.
Introduction
Explain the research background, gap analysis, problem formulation, objectives, and contribution of the study.
Research Method
Describe data sources, population/sample, research design, variables, and data analysis techniques.
Results and Discussion
Present key findings supported by tables/figures. Interpret and discuss the results in relation to existing literature.
Conclusion
Provide concise conclusions, implications, and recommendations. Discuss limitations and possible directions for future research.
Acknowledgment (if any)
Express gratitude to individuals or institutions that supported the research.
References
Follow APA Style (7th Edition). Each manuscript must include a minimum of 25 references. At least 80% of references should come from peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last five years.
Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference managers such as Mendeley or Zotero.
C. CITATION GUIDELINES
- Follow APA 7th Edition citation format
- Use “&” instead of “and” for multiple authors
- Italicize book and journal titles
- Include English translation in brackets for non-English references
- Do not list uncited references
- Avoid excessive self-citation

D. SUBMISSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST
- The manuscript is original and not under review elsewhere
- The file is in Microsoft Word format (.docx)
- The manuscript follows the Kasbuna template
- References follow APA (7th Edition) and include at least 25 sources
- Figures and tables are placed in the text
- The manuscript has been anonymized for double-blind review
