Relevansi Teori Perkembangan Kognitif Jean Piaget Di Tengah Transformasi Pendidikan Modern

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis relevansi teori perkembangan kognitif Jean Piaget di tengah transformasi pendidikan modern, khususnya dalam konteks pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dan pengembangan kompetensi abad ke-21. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kajian pustaka. Data diperoleh melalui penelusuran artikel jurnal nasional yang dipublikasikan pada rentang tahun 2021 hingga 2025 dan relevan dengan topik teori perkembangan kognitif, digitalisasi pendidikan, serta karakteristik peserta didik abad ke-21. Literatur yang terkumpul diseleksi berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang telah ditetapkan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif-analitis untuk mengaitkan konsep teoretis Piaget dengan realitas pendidikan modern. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa teori perkembangan kognitif Jean Piaget tetap relevan dan aplikatif dalam pendidikan modern. Prinsip pembelajaran aktif, konstruktivisme, serta pemahaman terhadap tahapan perkembangan kognitif terbukti mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dan pengembangan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Namun demikian, temuan penelitian juga mengungkap sejumlah tantangan, antara lain keterbatasan penelitian empiris, heterogenitas perkembangan kognitif peserta didik, serta risiko penggunaan teknologi yang tidak selaras dengan prinsip perkembangan kognitif. Implikasi penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya penerapan teori perkembangan kognitif Jean Piaget secara kontekstual dan adaptif dalam desain pembelajaran digital. Pendidik dan pengembang kurikulum perlu menjadikan tahapan perkembangan kognitif sebagai dasar dalam merancang strategi dan media pembelajaran agar transformasi pendidikan modern benar-benar berdampak pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran peserta didik.
