Generative AI Policy
1. Authors
Authors are required to disclose the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process when submitting a manuscript. The following guidelines specifically apply to the writing process and do not address the use of AI tools for data analysis or research insights:
-
Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may only be used to enhance the readability and language of the manuscript.
-
These tools must be used under human supervision. Authors must carefully review and edit the generated content, as AI may produce content that appears authoritative but is inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. Authors retain full responsibility and accountability for the accuracy, integrity, and final content of their work.
-
AI and AI-assisted technologies must not be listed or cited as authors or co-authors, as authorship entails responsibilities that can only be fulfilled by humans.
Authors must disclose the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process by including a statement at the end of the manuscript upon initial submission. This statement will be included in the published version of the paper and must be placed in a separate section before the references.
Title of the section: Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process.
Statement: During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] for [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) carefully reviewed and edited the content as necessary and take full responsibility for the final version of the published article.
This declaration is not required for the use of basic tools, such as grammar or spelling checkers and reference managers. If no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in the writing process, no statement is necessary.
2. Editors
Editors must exercise independent professional judgement when evaluating manuscripts and making editorial decisions. Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies must not replace the critical assessment, expertise, or decision-making responsibilities of editors.
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and all related information. Manuscript content, author information, reviewer reports, and other confidential materials must not be uploaded or disclosed to unauthorized generative AI tools or external AI services. Any permitted use of AI-assisted technologies must comply with the journal's confidentiality, data protection, and publication ethics policies.
3. Reviewers
Reviewers are prohibited from using generative AI and AI-assisted technologies to process, analyze, summarize, or generate evaluations of manuscripts assigned for peer review, including the preparation or revision of peer-review reports.
Reviewers must maintain the strict confidentiality of manuscripts and all information obtained during the peer-review process. Manuscript content and confidential materials must not be uploaded, shared, or disclosed to generative AI tools or external AI services. Peer-review reports and recommendations must be based on the reviewers' own expertise, critical assessment, and independent professional judgment.
Failure to comply with this policy may be considered a breach of the journal's publication ethics and may result in appropriate action in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.
