Focus and Scope

Etihad: Journal of Islamic Banking and Finance is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, IAIN Ponorogo. The journal aims to provide a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share their insights and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Islamic banking and finance.

This journal publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, reviews, and case studies that focus on both Islamic and conventional financial systems, covering banking and non-bank financial institutions. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  • Islamic banking operations and product innovation

  • Islamic financial institutions and markets (e.g., sukuk, Islamic mutual funds, fintech)

  • Sharia-compliant investment and risk management

  • Islamic accounting, auditing, and corporate governance

  • Financial inclusion, Islamic microfinance, and community empowerment

  • Comparative studies between Islamic and conventional finance

  • Policy, regulation, and ethics in Islamic financial systems

  • Islamic capital markets and contemporary digital finance issues

  • Integration of Islamic social finance (zakat, waqf, qard al-hasan) with commercial finance

The purpose of this journal is to disseminate scholarly work that strengthens the theoretical and practical understanding of Islamic banking and finance and supports the development of a fair, inclusive, and sustainable Islamic financial system.
