Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Indonesian Engagement Journal (InEJ) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the published work. The peer review process is carried out in the following stages:

  1. Initial Screening
The editorial team conducts an initial screening to evaluate the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic criteria will be returned to the author(s) without review.

  2. Double-Blind Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are forwarded to at least two independent reviewers. Both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous throughout the review process. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, theoretical contribution, and relevance to community engagement and development.

  3. Review Outcome
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial team will make one of the following decisions:

    • Accept Submission

    • Revisions Required (Minor or Major)

    • Resubmit for Review

    • Decline Submission

  4. Revision Process
If revisions are required, the authors are given an appropriate amount of time to revise and resubmit their manuscript along with a point-by-point response to the reviewers’ comments. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the same reviewers for further evaluation.

  5. Final Decision and Copyediting
Once the manuscript is accepted, it undergoes final editing, formatting, and proofreading before publication.

  6. Publication
Accepted manuscripts are published online in the scheduled issue and assigned a DOI.

The editorial team is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring that the review process is fair, timely, and constructive for all parties involved.
