Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Muslim Heritage undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by qualified reviewers and/or experts in the relevant field.

Manuscripts submitted to Muslim Heritage are first reviewed by the editorial team as an initial screening process. The editorial team evaluates the manuscript’s scope, content, academic quality, originality, and methodological suitability. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s initial requirements are then sent to at least two independent reviewers for a double-blind peer review. In this process, the identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept confidential.

The reviewers’ comments and recommendations are then communicated to the authors as a basis for revision and to ensure that the manuscript meets the journal’s academic and editorial standards. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the reviewers and/or editorial board, depending on the extent of the required revisions. The final publication decision is made by the editorial board based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the journal’s publication standards. The final decision is subsequently communicated to the authors.

The editors of Muslim Heritage are responsible for making the final decision regarding the publication of submitted manuscripts. These decisions are based on the manuscript’s academic quality, originality, relevance, contribution to the field, and importance to researchers and readers. In making publication decisions, the editors are guided by the journal’s editorial policies and applicable ethical and legal standards, including those concerning libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors may consult with other editors or members of the editorial board when necessary.

Muslim Heritage uses Turnitin as a plagiarism-detection tool to help ensure the originality and academic integrity of submitted manuscripts.
