Generative AI Policy
Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)
In order to maintain academic integrity, transparency, and the quality of scholarly publications, ELTALL establishes the following policy regarding the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the preparation of manuscripts.
1. Responsible Use of Generative AI
Authors may use Generative Artificial Intelligence tools as supportive instruments in the preparation of manuscripts, particularly for purposes such as language improvement, grammar correction, or stylistic editing. However, the use of such tools must remain limited and must not replace the authors’ intellectual contribution, scientific reasoning, data interpretation, or critical analysis.
The authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the entire manuscript, including any content generated or assisted by AI-based tools.
2. Limitation on AI-Generated Content
Manuscripts submitted to this journal must demonstrate that the proportion of content identified as AI-generated does not exceed 20%, as assessed by AI detection tools employed by the editorial team.
If the AI detection results indicate that the manuscript exceeds this threshold, the editorial office reserves the right to:
- Request revision from the authors, or
- Reject the manuscript prior to the peer review process.
3. Disclosure and Transparency
Authors are required to disclose any use of Generative AI tools during the preparation of their manuscript. Such disclosure should clearly state the name of the tool and the purpose of its use. This information may be included in the Acknowledgment, Methodology section or another appropriate section of the manuscript.
4. AI as Non-Author
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of a manuscript. Authorship must be limited to individuals who meet recognized authorship criteria, including substantial contributions to the conception, design, analysis, and interpretation of the research.
5. Author Accountability
Authors are fully accountable for ensuring that the use of AI does not lead to:
- Plagiarism,
- Fabrication or falsification of data,
- Inaccurate citations or references, or
- Dissemination of misleading or unverifiable scientific information.
Any violation of publication ethics related to the misuse of AI technologies will be handled in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies.
6. Editorial Authority
The editorial board reserves the right to conduct evaluations related to:
- Plagiarism detection,
- AI-generated content identification, and
- Compliance with the journal’s publication ethics and policies.
The final decision regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts rests solely with the editorial board.
