MENGHIDUPKAN LITERASI ANAK MELALUI PERPUSTAKAAN: PENDAMPINGAN ASSET-BASED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT UNTUK MENUMBUHKAN MOTIVASI MEMBACA

Rendahnya kemampuan literasi membaca serta menurunnya minat dan motivasi belajar anak masih menjadi tantangan dalam pendidikan dasar. Kondisi tersebut ditemukan pada anak dalam kelompok belajar nonformal yang sebagian masih mengalami kesulitan membaca, menulis, dan membedakan huruf tertentu. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan membaca dan menulis serta menumbuhkan minat dan motivasi belajar anak melalui program kunjungan ke Perpustakaan Proklamator Bung Karno. Kegiatan menggunakan metode Asset-Based Community Development dengan lima tahapan, yaitu discovery, dream, design, define, dan destiny. Peserta berjumlah 8 anak usia 7–14 tahun yang tergabung dalam kelompok belajar nonformal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui kunjungan perpustakaan dengan aktivitas memilih dan membaca buku, mengidentifikasi isi bacaan, menulis kembali isi buku, refleksi, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterlibatan anak dalam aktivitas literasi, ditandai dengan kelancaran membaca, munculnya inisiatif membaca secara mandiri, kemampuan memahami dan menuliskan kembali isi bacaan, serta keberanian menyampaikan hasil bacaan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan 6 dari 8 anak lebih menyukai kegiatan membaca setelah mengikuti program, sedangkan seluruh peserta menyatakan ingin kembali membaca buku. Program ini berpotensi menjadi alternatif pendampingan literasi berbasis pemanfaatan aset lokal bagi sekolah dan komunitas untuk memperkuat budaya literasi anak.

Being an open accessed journal and disseminating articles for free under the Creative Commons license term mentioned, author(s) aware that InEJ entitles the author(s) to no royalties or other fees.
7. Miscellaneous
InEJ will publish the article (or have it published) in the journal if the article’s editorial process is successfully completed.
