Correction and Retraction

Correction and Retraction

The Indonesian Journal of Gender Studies (IJouGS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors or concerns are identified in a published article, the journal will assess the available evidence and take appropriate action.

Corrections

A correction may be issued when an article contains an error that does not invalidate its main findings or conclusions but requires clarification or amendment. Authors should promptly notify the editorial team of any significant errors identified after publication.

The editorial team will assess the nature and significance of the error and determine whether a correction notice is necessary. Published corrections will clearly identify the affected article and describe the changes made.

Retractions

An article may be retracted when there is reliable evidence of serious problems that undermine its integrity or reliability. Grounds for retraction may include plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, serious research ethics violations, redundant publication, or other substantial breaches of publication ethics.

Retraction decisions are made by the editorial team following an assessment of the available evidence. Authors will normally be given an opportunity to respond to the concerns before a final decision is made, where appropriate.

Retraction Notice and Publication Record

A retracted article will remain identifiable in the journal's publication record to preserve transparency and the scholarly record. The article will be clearly marked as retracted, and a retraction notice will explain the reasons for the action to the extent appropriate.

Corrections and retractions will be linked to the original article and handled in a manner that enables readers to distinguish corrected content from retracted work.

Editorial Responsibility

All correction and retraction decisions are handled fairly, transparently, and in accordance with IJouGS publication ethics policies. When necessary, the journal may consult independent experts or contact the relevant institution to clarify concerns.

The purpose of this policy is to correct the scholarly record, protect research integrity, and maintain readers' trust in the Indonesian Journal of Gender Studies.
