Electronic Filing

The Indonesian Journal of Gender Studies (IJouGS) uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to manage manuscript submissions and editorial communication. Authors are required to submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. Submissions sent through other channels may be considered only when explicitly authorized by the editorial team.

Online Submission Procedure

Authors who wish to submit a manuscript must register on the journal's website or log in using an existing account. Registered authors can initiate a submission and complete the required steps through the OJS platform.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that:

  1. Scope and relevance: The manuscript falls within the journal's focus and scope, with gender constituting a substantive analytical concern.
  2. Originality: The manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another journal, except where the circumstances have been fully disclosed to the editor and explicitly permitted by the journal.
  3. File format: The manuscript is prepared in an accepted electronic document format, such as Microsoft Word or another format supported by the submission system.
  4. Author Guidelines: The manuscript complies with the journal's current formatting, language, citation, and reference requirements.
  5. Submission metadata: The title, abstract, keywords, author names, institutional affiliations, and other required information are entered accurately into the submission system.
  6. Review confidentiality: For manuscripts submitted to a double-blind peer-review section, identifying information must be removed from the review file and its document properties, where applicable.
  7. Ethical compliance: Authors have secured any necessary ethical approvals and permissions, disclosed relevant conflicts of interest and funding information, and ensured that the submission complies with the journal's publication ethics policies.

Editorial Processing

Following submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript's relevance, completeness, originality, compliance with the Author Guidelines, and suitability for further review.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's submission requirements may be returned to the authors for correction before further processing. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening may proceed to peer review in accordance with the journal's review policy.

Authors are responsible for monitoring their submissions through OJS and responding to editorial correspondence, reviewer comments, and revision requests within the specified deadlines.

The submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication. All editorial decisions are made in accordance with the journal's editorial policies, peer-review procedures, and publication ethics standards.

Submission Records and Confidentiality

IJouGS uses its electronic submission system to maintain records of manuscript submissions, editorial decisions, reviewer reports, revisions, and related correspondence. Access to these records is restricted to authorized individuals involved in the editorial and publication process.

The journal handles submitted manuscripts and associated information confidentially. Personal information collected through the submission system is used for the purposes of manuscript processing, editorial communication, publication, and other legitimate journal-related activities, in accordance with the journal's privacy policy.
